World Food Safety Day – June 7, 2025
“Science in action”
World Food Safety Day helps to raise awareness about the importance of food safety and to promote action to prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks.
This year’s theme “Science in action” draws attention to the essential role of science in ensuring food safety and enabling informed decision-making. Science is at the heart of making our food systems safer and more resilient. Food safety is everyone’s business - policy makers rely on scientific findings to shape regulations, food business operators apply scientific principles to maintain safe production standards, and consumers depend on science to adopt safe food practices and make informed choices about the food they eat.
DFSV’s vision is to ensure the safety and integrity of Victoria’s dairy products, which is demonstrated through our key functions such as monitoring and compliance with food safety programs and providing technical advice and guidance to licensees and reflects our commitment to “Science in action”.
