Dairy Food Safety Victoria Board appointments
Minister for Agriculture, the Hon. Ros Spence has appointed Ms Polly Bennett and Dr Scott Crerar and reappointed current board members Dr Michele Allan AO, Ms Tania Luckin, Dr Tracey Marsden and Ms Peta Slack-Smith to the Dairy Food Safety Victoria (DFSV) Board until 30 June 2027.
Ms Bennett and Dr Crerar bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in the public, private and not for profit sectors across the fields of agribusiness, food safety, education, health, infrastructure, regulation, food standards and governance that complements that of the returning board members. Ms Bennett’s previous professional experience included as CEO of NSW Food Authority and Australian Lot Feeders Association. Dr Crerar was previously leading the science and risk assessment functions at Food Standards Australia and New Zealand and held other food safety roles in Hong Kong and New Zealand.
DFSV Chair Dr Anne Astin AM PSM and CEO Corrie Goodwin welcomed the appointments, noting the skills and expertise the new board members will bring to the Authority. The incoming Board will continue the work started by its predecessor Board in developing DFSV’s strategic direction with its next Corporate Plan 2025-2030.
DFSV congratulates all board members on their appointment or reappointment and looks forward to working with the Board to deliver key regulatory obligations that support dairy food safety and public health, and a sustainable Victorian dairy industry.
DFSV also extends its appreciation to outgoing board members Dr Joanna Wriedt and Mr Nick Renyard for their valuable contributions, professionalism and commitment to the Dairy Food Safety Victoria Board during their tenure.
